The legislatures of some countries have standardized wheel arches. And the well-known spoke baffles and continuous reflective strips, vulcanized on both sides of the tires, are allowed. These reflective strips are made up of tiny glass spheres, which bounce light back to its source, making these reflective strips visible from a distance of 150m, much further than that of normal bi-beams. The reflection angle is also wider. According to the German Road Traffic Act (StVZO), if bicycle tires are equipped with these reflective strips, they may be dispensed with spoke baffles.
